Released in China 5 February, and in North America and Australia on 8 February, the film is based on a science fiction novella of the same name written by Hugo Award winning author Liu Cixin in 1999. The Earth Rescuer – Q Version figure is in the earth protective uniform worn by the Chinese delegation.
